The Hunger Games

Friday, March 23rd The Hunger Games comes to theaters.  The movie is based on Suzanne Collins' book of the same title.  From IMBD:

"Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match."

Boxoffice Magazine states:
"As action, as allegory, as cinema, The Hunger Games is the best American science-fiction film since "The Matrix," and if Ross and his crew stay with the series for the next two books, we may get that rarest of things: a blockbuster franchise that earns our money through craft, emotion and execution, not merely marketing and effects."

If you have not read The Hunger Games, we have three copies at the library and the audio version available through Woodlands Downloadable Library.  You can also request a copy through MeL.
